Gaza: The Israeli occupation forces have murdered 219 journalists and media workers since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza enclave on Oct. 7, 2023, including 30 female journalists, and continue to deliberately target Palestinian journalists and their families, particularly in the Gaza Strip, as part of the ongoing onslaught, the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate (PJS) reported on Monday.
According to Qatar News Agency, PJS stated that no fewer than 430 journalists have been injured by Israeli missiles and gunfire since Oct. 7, 2023, in addition to the murder of no fewer than 685 members of journalists’ families in the Gaza Strip.
In August 2024, 60 international organizations advocating for press freedom called on the European Union to suspend the partnership agreement signed with the Israeli entity, due to its infringement upon press freedom and the unprecedented targeting of journalists since the start of the war against the enclave.
