4.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northern Iraq

Doha: An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Tuesday the Kifri district of the Kurdistan region in Iraq: An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 shook the Kifri district in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, as reported on Tuesday. The tremor was felt approximately 30 kilometers east of Kifri city, located in the northern part of the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Nineveh Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring Department confirmed that residents in the area experienced the earthquake. Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage following the event.
