Tonga: An earthquake measuring 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Tonga on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred 184 km from Niuafo’ou, at a depth of 295.7 km, as reported by the US Geological Survey.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.

Tonga, an archipelago of 176 islands in the South Pacific Ocean, is prone to seismic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
