Doha: A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Papua New Guinea on Tuesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the United States Geological Survey reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 93 kilometers east of Kimbe, at a depth of 98.2 kilometers.
No casualties or damage have been reported.
Papua New Guinea is highly prone to earthquakes due to its location along the Ring of Fire, a seismically active zone encircling the Pacific Ocean that accounts for the majority of the world’s earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
