Doha: An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 struck Tuesday the US state of Alaska. The epicenter of the quake occurred 107 km from Atka, at a depth of 22.9 km.
According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
Alaska sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire where tectonic plates converge, leading to intense seismic and volcanic activity.
