The Civil Defense in Babylon announced today, Wednesday, that its cadres were able to put out a large fire that consumed agricultural lands and orchards in the Al-Mahaweel district, north of Hilla, without injuries.

Director of Media for the Civil Defense, Aqil Abdullah, said, “The civil defense teams were able today, Wednesday, to put out a large fire that consumed agricultural lands and orchards in Al-Mahaweel district, north of Hilla, before it spread to the lands and properties of other citizens.”

He added that the police opened an investigation to find out the causes of the fire.
