The Military Intelligence Directorate arrested a terrorist gang that was drilling crude oil pipelines and smuggling it inside and outside Iraq in Anbar Governorate.

The Directorate stated in a statement: “With accurate intelligence information by the Directorate, the Military Intelligence Division of the 10th Infantry Division set out to carry out the duty of arresting a terrorist gang by setting up a tight ambush in Al-Safriya area of Ramadi district, which resulted in the arrest of the gang consisting of four members, who puncture crude oil pipelines and smuggles it inside and outside Iraq, and also earns large sums of money by selling and smuggling crude oil.”

It added: “This operation comes after the head of the gang was lured by our heroic detachments for a long time until they were caught red-handed in Anbar Governorate, and the accused and the seized items were duly handed over to the requesting party.”
