A police force from Babylon Governorate arrested a man on Monday evening who killed and burned a family of six people in the western Hamzah district, south of Hilla, yesterday, Sunday.

Babylon Police Director, Major General Khaled Al-Shammari, said, “Babylon Police were able this evening, Monday, to arrest the perpetrator of a horrific crime within 24 hours, which included a betrayed family consisting of 6 individuals, including children, who were burned to death in Al-Hamzah Al-Gharbi district, south of the governorate.”

Al-Shammari added, "After the news of a fire accident in a house for unknown reasons, and due to the resulting suspicion, a work team was formed and the team was able, within 24 hours of the crime occurring, to arrest the perpetrator hiding in Baghdad in cooperation with the competent capital police, and he was taken to Babylon Governorate and is still there." The investigation is continuing with him to find out more details about the circumstances of the accident.”
