Baghdad, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced during his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken the readiness of the Palestinian Authority to take over the reins of government in the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting with Blinken, Abbas indicated that the Gaza Strip is part of the Palestinian state.

He said that Palestine will be responsible for Gaza as part of the comprehensive political solution.

Earlier, Abbas appealed to the leaders of Arab countries to propose “holding an emergency summit to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.”
