Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian announced that he had received an official invitation from Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to visit the Kingdom, and he will accept it.
Amir Abdullahian said: “I sent an official invitation to my Saudi counterpart to visit Tehran, and he welcomed the invitation and confirmed that he would accept it.”
The Iranian minister added, “The recent developments between Tehran and Riyadh open a door to positive climates at the regional level.”
The Iranian minister said in a press conference in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, today, Friday, that the embassies in Saudi Arabia and Iran will be reopened “in the next few days.”
Abdullahian did not mention a specific date for the reopening of the embassies of the two countries, which agreed last March to resume relations.
On the tenth of last March, a joint statement was issued between Iran, Saudi Arabia and China, in which Tehran and Riyadh announced the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between them and to reopen their embassies and consulates within a maximum period of two months.
