Airports and Air Navigation announce that the reduction of airspace designated for military aviation has entered into force

Baghdad, The General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management, in the Ministry of Transport, announced today, Tuesday, that the reduction of the airspace designated for military aviation has entered into force, which increases the area of airspace designated for civil aviation.

The company’s Director General, Abbas Sabbar Al-Baidhani, said in a statement, “After several meetings and correspondence with the Joint Air Operations Center of the Coalition Aviation, the company’s request to reduce the airspace reserved for the military forces of the coalition, represented by HULK, was accepted,” pointing out that this comes in a framework for increasing the area of Iraqi airspace designated for civil aviation.

Al-Baidhani added that, based on this, ‘there will be a greater space for civil aviation to cross and open the doors for companies to use the airspace, which will also reduce the interference occurring as it supports the western side far from GPS interference.’
