Al Arabi Placed in Group B of AGCFF’s Gulf Club Champions League

Doha: Doha hosted on Monday the draw of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation’s (AGCFF) Gulf Club Champions League, which will begin on October 23 and will continue until April 15, 2025.

The draw ceremony was attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, the Minister of Sports and Youth and President of the AGCFF, Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, the President of Qatar Football Association, and a number of representatives of the Gulf federations.

The tournament will feature eight clubs of the region, namely Qatar’s Al Arabi, Al Nasr of the UAE, Bahrain’s Al Riffa SC, Kuwait’s Qadsia SC, Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq FC, Al Ahli Sanaa of Yemen, Dhofar SC of Oman, and Iraq’s Duhok SC Qatar’s Al Arabi was placed in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq FC, Bahrain’s Al Riffa SC, and Kuwait’s Qadsia SC.

Iraq’s Duhok SC, UAE’s Al Nasr, Dhofar SC of Oman and Al Ahli Sanaa of Yemen will compete in Group A.

AGCFF Secretary General Jassim Al Rumaihi expressed great happiness with the return of the Gulf championship at the club level after a hiatus, pointing out that the competitions that will start in October will witness strong matches between the participating teams that represent great technical value in Gulf football.

Talking to Qatar News Agency , Al Rumaihi praised the efforts of the Qatar Football Association, which welcomed Doha’s hosting of the matches of the Al Ahli Sanaa of Yemen team, stressing that the tournament is an important opportunity for all Gulf teams to compete in a wonderful atmosphere.

Al Rumaihi added that the total financial prizes increased so that the tournament prizes compete with that of the Asian Football Confederation. This shows the great interest attached by the federation.
