National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji confirmed that the Iraqi government is proceeding to facilitate the work of the NATO mission to carry out its advisory tasks in Iraq. The Advisory said in a statement: "Al-Araji met in his office today, the Commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant General Lucas Scharos and his accompanying delegation." The meeting reviewed the work of the NATO mission in Iraq and discussed ways to enhance cooperation and partnership, in terms of consulting, training, and the exchange of security and intelligence information. Al-Araji stressed that the Iraqi government is keen to continue cooperation and partnership with the NATO mission, which is an advisory mission and not a combat mission, to benefit from the mutual expertise and experiences between the two sides, and in a way that enhances the security and stability of the region, noting that the Iraqi government is proceeding to facilitate the work of the mission, to carry out its advisory tasks in Iraq.
