Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Engages in Diplomatic and Global Events on Monday.

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani actively participated in a series of diplomatic and global engagements on Monday. Notably, he arrived in the Federative Republic of Brazil to attend the G20 Summit 2024 in Rio de Janeiro. His participation underscored Qatar’s commitment to addressing pressing global challenges and fostering a future of peace and prosperity.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir also sent congratulatory cables to HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco and HE President of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics, celebrating their respective Independence Days. Additionally, HH the Amir received a written invitation from HH Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to participate in the 45th session of the GCC Supreme Council.

Following his involvement in the G20 Summit, HH the Amir departed Rio de Janeiro for an official visit to the Republic of Costa Rica. This visit highlights the growing diplomatic relations between Qatar and Costa Rica, further emphasized by
remarks from HE Ambassador of Qatar to Costa Rica, Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Dosari.

Meanwhile, Qatar facilitated significant events on the domestic front. Under the auspices of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Rowad Entrepreneurship Conference and Arab SMEs Summit 2024 commenced in collaboration with ESCWA. Furthermore, the Qatar Travel Mart 2024 is set to launch later this month, showcasing Qatar’s commitment to enhancing its tourism sector.

In other developments, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, reaffirmed Qatar’s dedication to a knowledge-based economy during his address at the M360 Middle East and North Africa Conference, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.

On the humanitarian front, a Qatari Amiri Air Force aircraft delivered relief aid to Lebanon, demonstrating Qatar’s ongoing support for the Lebanese people. In Syria, the Qatar Red Crescent Society inaugurated two n
ew residential villages in Idlib, furthering its humanitarian efforts in the region.

Additionally, Qatar Charity launched the “Until When?” relief campaign for the 2024-2025 winter season, aiming to provide essential support during harsh conditions.

In sports, Lusail International Circuit announced the inclusion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East in the lineup for the Qatar Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix 2024, while the sub-qualifiers for the Men’s Cricket World Cup (T20) began in Doha, highlighting Qatar’s growing prominence in global sports.
