At Least 11 Killed in Floods in India-Administered Jammu and Kashmir

Doha: At least 11 people, including four children, were killed by floods and landslides caused by unprecedented heavy rainfall in India-administered Jammu and Kashmir. A local disaster management official reported that the Ramban and Reasi areas of the region experienced heavy rain and landslides on Friday night, resulting in 11 fatalities. He added that a five-year-old child remains missing, trapped under the debris.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Indian Meteorological Department stated that the heavy rainfall in the region reached unprecedented levels at two locations. Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir experienced devastating floods and flash floods last Wednesday, which claimed the lives of 41 people.
