The Indian Army announced today, Wednesday, that 23 soldiers were missing after a strong flood resulting from heavy rains swept a valley in the state of Sikkim in the northeast of the country.
The army said in a statement, “Due to a sudden cloudburst over Lunak Lake in North Sikkim, a flash flood occurred in the Teesta River, where 23 individuals were reported missing and some vehicles sank under the silt.”
