Basra discusses with the Development Program and the UN Mission water, health and education projects that serve the province

The First Deputy of Basra Governorate, Muhammad Taher Al-Tamimi, discussed today, Tuesday, with the Director of Stability Support at the United Nations Development Program in Iraq and the representative of the United Nations Mission (UNDP) official, the most important projects implemented by the mission in Basra and the expected future projects.

In a statement, he said that the meeting with the Director of the Development Program and the representative of the United Nations Mission “C” dealt with the interest that the Development Program and the United Nations Mission attach to the water projects sector, and the allocation of special funds for the establishment of multiple projects in this sector, noting that “the United Nations Development Program will open two projects next week, he explained, “the first project is in Khor Al-Zubayr, which will be opened towards the end of this month, and the second project is in Al-Hussein neighborhood.”

For his part, the Director of Support for the United Nations Development Program in Iraq praised the role of the local government in Basra for the service and infrastructure projects it provides in the province, pointing out that “the development program has coordination with the Prime Ministry to establish ten projects related to the health and education sectors in Basra, by establishing health centers and schools in coordination with the Ministries of Health and Education.
