The UAE Embassy in Sudan organised a sporting event to promote the Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi 2019, with the attendance of members of the official Sudanese team participating in the event.
Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Sudan, and members of the country’s diplomatic mission received the Sudanese delegation, which was led by Dr. Karrar Al Tuhami, Chairman of the Sudanese Special Olympics, and included administrative staff, trainers and competitors.
During the event, Al Junaibi presented the Special Olympics hosted by the UAE, which is confirming its prominent sporting and humanitarian stature and is supporting community solidarity efforts, through promoting cultural and social interaction between various communities.
He added that the championship will be historic and unprecedented and will reflect the civilised and humanitarian image of the UAE, as well as its established values, such as tolerance, respect and co-existence. He also wished the Sudanese team luck in the competitions for People of Determination.
Dr. Al Tuhami said that the championship will take place for the first time in the Middle East by the UAE, the country of success and overall excellence.
The Sudanese competitors thanked the UAE’s wise leadership for making the entire community happy, including People of Determination.
