Cairo to Host Meeting on Global Food Security on Monday

Cairo: The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that an official meeting of the G20 will be held from September 1 to 3. In a statement, the ministry said that the meeting will address the main outcomes of the G20 Food Security Task Force, as well as negotiations on the ministerial statement on global food security, which is expected to be adopted during the G20 Ministerial Meeting in South Africa on September 19 and launched as one of the official documents of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on September 22 and 23.

According to Qatar News Agency, the statement added that the meeting will be held in coordination with the South African Presidency of the G20 this year, noting that Egypt’s hosting of this meeting will mark the first time the gathering has been held outside the group’s member states since its establishment in 1999.
