Doha: HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani extended a warm welcome to HH Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah and HRH Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II upon their arrivals at Doha International Airport on Wednesday. Both crown princes were in Qatar for separate fraternal visits, further strengthening diplomatic relations between the nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the visits unfolded against the backdrop of heightened regional tensions following a recent Israeli attack on a residential building in Doha, which housed members of the Hamas political bureau. The Egyptian Cabinet and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with Qatar. Both nations affirmed their support for any measures Qatar may undertake in response to the incident.
In a show of diplomatic engagement, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with the visiting dignitaries at Lusail Palace. Discussions were held with Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan and HH Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah of Kuwait to reinforce bilateral ties. The visits underscored Qatar’s commitment to maintaining strong regional alliances amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior confirmed the identity of one of the victims killed in the Israeli strike, heightening the urgency for diplomatic and legal responses. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani criticized the attack, stating it “killed any hope” for hostages remaining in Gaza. Additionally, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi announced the formation of a Legal Team to address the incident’s legal implications.
In a related diplomatic exchange, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received phone calls from HE President Emmanuel Macron of France and HE Prime Minister of Spain Dr. Pedro Sanchez, reflecting international concern over the region’s stability. Qatar also participated in the Geneva PeaceTalks 2025, reasserting its role in advocating for education and peace on the global stage.
