The President of the Iraqi Football Association, “Adnan Darjal”, received, at the headquarters of the Iraqi Football Association, the coaching staff of the national futsal team, led by Brazilian coach Ricardo Sobral Cacau and his assistant staff, in the presence of the members of the Iraqi Football Association, Yahia Zaghir, Ghalib Al-Zamili, Firas Bahr Al-Uloum, and the administrative director of the national team, Ali Issa.

A statement by the Iraqi Football Association stated that: “During the meeting, the program prepared by Coach was reviewed, where a detailed and comprehensive report was presented on the team’s program and its needs for the next stage, and a full explanation was emphasized by the technical staff regarding providing the necessary requirements for preparation, granting a sufficient period of time for preparation, a preparatory camp and friendly competition in order to optimally prepare for the upcoming entitlements with full readiness.

Darjal pointed out: The ultimate goal is to prepare for the Asian Qualifiers Championship, and to strive hard for Iraq to be among the teams that qualify for the World Cup.

Darjal praised the great effort made by the technical and administrative staff and the players in particular, and by the Futsal Committee in general.

He affirmed the Iraqi Football Association’s full support for all of the following: the good preparation of the national futsal team, indicating: The Executive Office of the Iraqi Football Association is ready to provide material and logistical support that contributes to the promotion of work in the national team system, to be among the first teams in the continent of Asia and the world.”
