Doha: HE Deputy Shura Council Speaker, Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti hailed HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s unwavering support, generous patronage and great confidence bestowed upon the Council.

Speaking on the occasion of the adjournment of the third regular session of the first legislative term of the Shura Council, Her Excellency said this support and patronage are the greatest evidence of His Highness’s belief in the pioneering role of the Council and the importance of popular participation in decision-making.

She highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the Council and the esteemed government, noting that this cooperation has yielded a lot of outcomes that have been positively reflected in the laws, legislation and procedures taken by the government.

She pointed to the successes of the third regular session, stressing that the cooperation between all members of the Council and the diligent work of its various committees have contributed to the Council performing its role to the fu
llest extent.

HE Al Sulaiti expressed her pride in the awareness of the Qatari society of the role of the Shura Council, hailing the society as a partner of the Council during the exercise of its constitutional powers. She stressed the keenness to deal with all the issues raised by the society, and that it takes all of that into consideration.

Highlighting the Council’s participation in Gulf, Arab and international parliamentary events, and its support for just causes, especially the Palestinian cause, Her Excellency noted the Council’s repeated calls on every occasion for parliaments and parliamentary unions, and its demand for them to seek to stop the aggression on Gaza, and take practical measures to provide support to the brothers in Palestine.

In turn, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud, stressed that the success of this session would not have been achieved without the support of the wise leadership, diligent work and fruitful cooperation with various parties.

He sa
id that the General Secretariat worked hard and diligently to ensure the provision of all forms of technical and administrative support that the Council members need to carry out their duties to the fullest.

Al Mahmoud praised the cooperation shown by all relevant parties, through their positive communication with the General Secretariat of the Council, noting that this cooperation is in the interest of the country and contributes to achieving its National Vision 2030.

He also pointed out that the General Secretariat of the Council was keen to attract the best national competencies, as it worked to qualify and train them according to the highest administrative standards.
