Washington: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has just announced his victory in the US presidential election, declaring that he will be the 47th president of the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the results so far indicate that Trump has received 267 electoral votes, while his competitor Kamala Harris has secured 224 votes. However, it is important to note that no official body has announced the final results of the election, and US Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has yet to concede defeat.
In his victory announcement, Trump emphasized his commitment to working for every citizen, declaring this outcome as a significant win for the American people. He stated, “This is a great victory for the American people… We will help our nation recover.”
Trump further commented on the historical nature of the day’s events, highlighting the political success achieved. He expressed gratitude to the American people for providing him with a substantial mandate and mentioned that
the Republicans have regained control of the Senate. Moreover, he indicated that the party is likely to retain control of the US House of Representatives.
