Doha: Several editors-in-chief of local newspapers have highlighted the significance of voting on the constitutional amendments on Tuesday, emphasizing their impact in reinforcing the principles of Shura and strengthening national unity. They stressed the vital role of the media in spreading awareness and encouraging popular participation, reflecting the commitment of the Qatari leadership to develop the constitutional system and deepen the principle of Shura.
According to Qatar News Agency, the editors-in-chief urged Qatari citizens to participate actively in the vote, considering it an expression of national awareness and the importance of these amendments in supporting comprehensive development and achieving political and economic stability, while taking responsibility for preserving the nation’s gains for future generations.
Mohammed Hejji, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Watan daily newspaper, emphasized the role of the constitutional amendments in fortifying the principles of Shura and enhancing national cohesi
on between the people and the leadership. He noted that the proposed articles primarily aim to support national unity and equality in citizenship. Hejji commended the awareness and media campaigns for their success in educating citizens about the importance of exercising their national and constitutional rights and encouraged participation in the referendum.
Faisal Al Mudhahka, Editor-in-Chief of Gulf Times, stressed that voting represents an advanced stage in the development of Qatar’s political and social system.
