Cairo: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday. The talks in Cairo addressed a range of issues, with a significant focus on the Palestinian cause and the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian President emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and underscored the importance of providing humanitarian aid to the affected areas. He highlighted the necessity of restoring normal navigation in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea, which are critical maritime routes.
Furthermore, President El-Sisi pointed out the significance of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States. He called for de-escalation in the region to avert a potential comprehensive regional war that could have severe consequences for the security and well-being of countries and populations across the region.
