Egypt President, Iran Foreign Minister Discuss Middle East Developments

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East, alongside opportunities for strengthening relations between Egypt and Iran.

During the meeting, President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance against the further escalation of conflict in the region, emphasizing the critical need to de-escalate tensions to prevent the outbreak of a broader regional war. He warned of the severe consequences such a conflict could pose to the security, stability, and prosperity of all nations and peoples in the Middle East.

El-Sisi also underscored the importance of continued and intensified international efforts to restore ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon, halt violations and attacks in the West Bank, and deliver urgent humanitarian aid to alleviate the worsening plight of civilians caught in the crossfire.
