Egyptian and Turkish Presidents Urge Halt to Israel’s Actions Amid Regional Concerns

Cairo: During their phone call on Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, emphasized that Israel’s ongoing approach could have significant repercussions for the region and its security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, both leaders cautioned that this approach endangers the capabilities of the peoples of the region and the Middle East as a whole, potentially leading to widespread chaos. They highlighted that the consequences would be borne by all countries without exception.

The Egyptian and Turkish Presidents underscored the necessity for an immediate cessation of military operations and urged the US and Iran to return to negotiations through Omani mediation. They identified this as the only pathway to achieving a peaceful resolution to the current crisis.

Both leaders also firmly rejected any displacement of Palestinians from their land or the abandonment of the Palestinian cause. They committed to continuing consultations and coordination with one another and pledged to take joint action to restore regional stability.
