Egyptian Foreign Minister Engages in Talks with Italian and Spanish Counterparts on Regional Tensions

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty held phone conversations on Friday with his Italian and Spanish counterparts, Antonio Tajani and Jose Manuel Albares, to discuss the latest regional developments and their impact on security and stability. The discussions were centered around the escalating tensions in the region, particularly following the Israeli strikes and the targeting of sites within Iranian territory. The ministers exchanged views on the potential repercussions of these developments and emphasized the need to safeguard regional security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ministers agreed on the importance of intensifying joint efforts to de-escalate the situation and work towards restoring calm. The discussions also reviewed the ongoing efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, secure the release of hostages and detainees, and facilitate the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Strip.
