3.5MN PAGES OF DOCUMENTS, MANUSCRIPTS DIGITIZED AT QNL

Hassan Mohammed al-Awad, Director of Digital Initiatives Affairs at Qatar National Library (QNL), unveiled that 3.5 million pages of historical documents as well as Arabic and Islamic manuscripts have been digitized so far. Of these pages, about 1.5 million documents have been published on Qatar Digital Library (QDL), and they are now available for reading, noting that QDL is the largest e-gate in the world.

Al-Awad clarified, in an interview with Al Sharq, that QNL is one of the biggest supporters of the World Digital Library with more than 345 historical books and manuscripts, noting that there is wide cooperation with the top libraries worldwide to exchange expertise and boost cooperation in projects of mutual interest.
