Qatar Ports Management Company � Mwani Qatar provided its services to 2,493 ships in the first half of this year, achieving a rise in the movement of ship amounting to 123.6%, compared to the same period of last year that recorded 1,115 ships.

Mwani Qatar further witnessed huge economic and commercial activity in its operational performance in the past six months; it received 647,234 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), achieving a rise estimated at 160.72% as compared to the containers received in the first half of 2017.

Mwani Qatar was operating as per the directives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, in collaboration with its partners, to launch direct navigation lines between Hamad and Ruwais ports as well as some other parts inside and outside the region.

In addition, the first half of this year saw a rise in the number of tourists visiting the country, with expectations of a further increase in the coming period, after Mwani Qatar, which operates Doha Port, the maritime destination for tourists coming to visit the country, unveiled welcoming 66,242 tourists in the first six months of 2018.
