Erdogan Heads To New York To Participate In United Nations Meetings

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan headed to the United States this afternoon to participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly.

Erdogan is accompanied by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, Energy and Natural Resources Alp Arslan Bayraktar, Trade Omer Polat, Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change Mehmet Ozheski, Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacer, Family and Social Services Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas, in addition to the head of the Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Kalin, and the head of the Presidential Communications Department Fakhruddin Altoun, Presidential Advisor Akif Chagatay and a number of officials.

According to a statement by the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidency, Erdogan is scheduled to deliver a speech at the meeting, the topic of which will be “Rebuilding confidence and reviving global solidarity: accelerating the pace of work on 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals in order to achieve peace, prosperity, development and sustainability for all.”

Erdogan is expected to hold many high-level meetings and talks, especially with his counterparts, during his time in New York.
