Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: We will not return the Syrians to their country, expelled or forcibly, but rather we will return them in a manner befitting human and Islamic values.
Erdogan added in a speech during his participation today, Thursday, in an event in Istanbul entitled “Strong Industry, Strong Turkey,” that state institutions and civil organizations have built brick houses in northern Syria, and that work is underway to build new homes to accommodate about a million Syrians, with Qatari support.
He continued, “Yesterday, our Interior Minister, Suleiman Soylu, went to northern Syria, and oversaw the laying of the foundation stone for the homes project. With this project, we will have begun to establish the infrastructure for the voluntary return of Syrians to those areas.”
The Turkish President reiterated his emphasis on continuing military operations and firmly confronting the PKK militants, whether inside or outside the country.
