Lusail: The Tunisian and Palestinian national teams drew 2-2 in their match on Thursday at Lusail Stadium, as part of the second round of Group A matches in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. Tunisia’s Omar Ayouni opened the scoring in the 16th minute, with Firas Chaouat adding another in the 51st minute. Palestine responded with goals from Hamed Hamdan in the 61st minute and Zaid Qanbar in the 85th minute.
According to Qatar News Agency, the second match in the same group will be played later today between Qatar and Syria at Khalifa International Stadium. In the first round of matches, Tunisia suffered a 1-0 defeat to Syria, while Palestine managed a victory over Qatar with the same scoreline.
With the current standings, Palestine has accumulated 4 points from a win and a draw, whereas Tunisia has secured one point from their draw against Palestine and a previous loss. The upcoming third round of group matches, scheduled for next Sunday, will see Qatar face Tunisia at Al Bayt Stadium, while Syria will compete against Palestine at Education City Stadium.
The tournament format allows for the top two teams from each of the four groups to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar.
