Doha: UAE head coach Cosmin Olaroiu expressed his disappointment after the loss to the Jordanian national team by two goals to one, in the match that took place between the two sides at Al Bayt Stadium, as part of the first round of Group C in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.

According to Qatar News Agency, speaking today at the post-match press conference, the coach said that the match was balanced at the start until the referee decided to award a penalty and send off a UAE player, which had a major impact and changed the course of the match, as the momentum shifted in favor of the Jordanian team afterward.

He added in this regard that the referee’s decision to award the penalty was correct, but that the red card was unjustified.

The coach maintained however that the Jordanian national team deserved the win and the three points based on its performance, as it capitalized on the numerical advantage.

He stressed however that his team can respond and return to winning ways, starting next match.
