FM Chairs The 20th Session Of The Ministerial Council For Economy

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, chaired the 20th session of the Ministerial Council for the Economy, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Ministers of Finance, Trade, Industry and Agriculture, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Legal Affairs, and President Securities Commission.

The Council discussed the items on its agenda and took the appropriate decisions in this regard.

The council hosted the Minister of Water Resources to review the ministry’s work and plans to include strategic irrigation projects, benefit from the experience of sober companies and introduce modern methods of irrigation.

The Council expressed its full support for the Ministry’s work to carry out its duties in this vital and important sector.

The Council also hosted the Governor of Nineveh and his accompanying delegation in order to discuss projects related to the province, and the Council listened to the obstacles that impede the completion of these projects.

The Council discussed the project to build a hospital with a capacity of (600) beds, and the problems related to this project, and the Chairman of the Council stressed the need to complete the hospital project in accordance with the legal contexts and in a transparent manner, and to complete all requirements and according to the applicable instructions and to prepare files and priorities in order to present them in the upcoming meetings.

The council also decided to reduce the rents for fish breeders who contract with the Ministry of Agriculture and who were unable to complete their projects due to the expansion of the salt spout in the Shatt al-Arab.
