Gaza: (4887) aid trucks entered during the past month

The Palestinian government media office announced the number of aid trucks that entered the Gaza Strip during last April.

The office stated in a statement, ‘The number of aid trucks that entered the Gaza Strip during the month of April amounted to (4,887) aid trucks, including (1,166) trucks from the Rafah crossing, and (3,721) trucks from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, while only (419) trucks out of the total of these trucks entered the northern Gaza Strip

The office added: “The average daily aid trucks are (163) trucks, and this number is much less than the needs of our people, especially in northern Gaza, and it contradicts the American statements and (Israeli) allegations that talk about increasing aid trucks and entering of 300-400 aid trucks daily.”

The statement continued, “Although there was a limited increase in the number of trucks entering daily during the second half of the month, the total number of trucks did not change significantly due to the crossings not operating several days during the
month for various reasons.”

It pointed out: ‘The aid trucks that arrived in northern Gaza represent only about 8% of the total of these trucks, even though the northern regions are the most in need and most exposed to the food security crisis and there are 700,000 citizens, and this modest amount cannot meet their various food and life needs. And this requires work to increase the number of aid trucks arriving into northern Gaza and raise their percentage of the total trucks entering the Strip.’
