Gaza: The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip declared that 85 of its personnel have been martyred, 301 others have been injured, and 20 have been arrested since the onset of the Israeli onslaught on the Strip on Oct. 7, 2023.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Monday, Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that 17 centers and premises had been destroyed by Israeli airstrikes, 14 of which were completely devastated. Additionally, 56 vehicles were destroyed, including 12 firefighting and rescue vehicles.
The Israeli occupation forces targeted civil defense personnel 17 times while they were performing their field duty, as well as targeting their centers six times, in addition to devastating the stockpile of firefighting and rescue equipment with a value of $1.3 million, the statement continued.
The statement added that on Oct. 23, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces disrupted the civil defense system, rendering it out of service in the northern Gaza Strip and forcing its personnel to relocate to the centr
al and southern parts of the Strip.
For the 45th day, northern Gaza is grappling with an Israeli siege and starvation amid intense aerial and artillery shelling which led to the separation of the entire northern governorate from Gaza.
Moreover, for the 27th day, the Israeli occupation forces have continued to disrupt the civil defense operations in the northern Gaza Strip due to the ongoing offensive, leaving thousands of people without humanitarian and medical aid.
