Doha: Gulf Cooperation Council: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi strongly condemned the alarming escalation marked by the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque courtyards by groups of Israeli officials and settlers, under the protection of occupation forces.
According to Qatar News Agency, in an official statement, Albudaiwi asserted that these provocative actions constitute a blatant violation of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque, a flagrant affront to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide, and a rejected attempt to impose a Judaization reality on the sacred site, an act that clearly contravenes international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The Secretary-General reaffirmed the GCC unequivocal rejection of all efforts to alter the historical and legal status quo of Al Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem. He called on the international community to assume its urgent responsibilities in halting these repeated violations and safeguarding Islamic holy sites from all forms of desecration and provocation.
