GCO Director Highlights WSJ Tech Live’s Role in Enhancing Qatar’s Global Technology Position

Doha: HE Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO), Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, has emphasized that Qatar’s hosting of WSJ Tech Live Qatar 2025 represents a significant step in the nation’s strategic efforts to bolster its status as a global hub for discussions on technology and the digital economy. The event, which is the first WSJ Tech Live held in the Middle East and North Africa, will take place from December 2 to 4, attracting prominent global figures in technology, innovation, and policymaking.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE the GCO Director highlighted the event’s unique importance, stating that it transcends merely showcasing technological advancements. It serves as a rare platform bringing together CEOs from major international companies and institutions for strategic discussions on the future of technology, media, entertainment, and finance, and their influence on the global economy. He noted that the event plays a crucial role in shaping influential visions and emerging trends across these sectors.

His Excellency mentioned that Doha’s selection as the host city underscores international institutions’ confidence in Qatar’s thriving technological ecosystem and its capacity to attract leading investors, decision-makers, and experts globally. This also highlights the competitiveness of Qatar’s national economy and its role in stimulating innovation and attracting startups and talent.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani further explained that the conference aids in building international partnerships that enhance digital transformation across the region.
