Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), according to which QOC will become a partner in Al Enna Project, which aims to enhance the winter camping experience and will be launched in conjunction with the start of the season, on November 1st 2018.
The MoU aims to support joint cooperation in various related fields, in particular sports events within the tourism festivals, organized by QTA, and that fall within its programs.
Under the MoU, QTA will provide spaces for sport stadiums and equipment, and they include six stadiums that will be supplied with power, lighting, storage areas, offices and other facilities.
As for QOC, it will transfer its sports activities from its current location in Ennat Al Adam to the beach area of Al Ain project plan. The current camp site will be used to provide parking for the citizens, residents and visitors during the 2018/2019 season.
Mr Hassan Al Ibrahim, Acting Chairman of QTA, said that QTA is working to enhance the concepts of sports tourism and strengthen Qatar’s position as a sports tourism destination, whilst benefiting from the country’s capabilities, expertise and sports facilities at the highest level.
