In a seminar about Women’s Empowerment held in Kuwait, His Excellency Saqr Nasser Al Raisi, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, stressed that the UAE has been one of the leading countries in the empowerment of women and has been competing with developed countries with regards to gender equality.
His excellency added that the leadership of the UAE has spared no effort, time or money to empower the Emirati citizen, and the woman in particular.
Furthermore, His Excellency explained that this did not come from a vacuum, but was the result of the continuous efforts of His Highness Sheikha Fatima bent Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the supreme president of the Family Development Foundation, since the beginning of the 1970s, where the General Women’s Union was established, to be the national mechanism for women’s empowerment and leadership.
His Excellency noted also that Emirati women are holding nowadays the highest positions in all fields and contribute effectively to leading the development process, through their participation in the three sovereign authoritie ( executive, legislative and judicial) and in various leadership positions in the country.
