German Finance Minister Christian Lindner called for reassurance after the turmoil in stock markets that erupted last week.
Lindner described the current situation in press statements as “not a systematic crisis,” adding, “however, we have all the necessary tools to deal with such a matter.” He called for patience and self-control in the stock market, noting that there are constant fluctuations and collapses.
The stock markets experienced a sharp decline as anxiety surged, with many stock prices plummeting. Analysts linked the turmoil to growing fears of a potential recession in the US and escalating tensions in the Middle East, although the situation had stabilized and the markets had calmed by the end of the week.
