The German government confirmed, through its embassy in Baghdad, today, Wednesday, its readiness to provide full support to the Election Commission for the success of the provincial council elections expected at the end of this year.

The High Elections Commission said in a statement, “The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners received today the First Secretary of the German Embassy in Iraq (Mike Clemens Laufer), who was briefed on the nature of the ongoing preparations for holding the provincial council elections and highlighting their importance as they produce local governments for the provinces.”

For his part, Mike affirmed "Germany's readiness to provide full support to the Commission for the success of the upcoming elections through the International Assistance Mission (UNAMI)," noting that "German companies made a significant contribution to printing the ballot paper in the previous parliamentary elections and examining the electoral machines."
