Fatima Khamis Al Mazrouie, UAE Ambassador to Denmark, visited the VIA University College campus in the Danish city of Viborg, after allocating a day to celebrate the Year of Zayed and the centennial anniversary of the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Local newspapers described Sheikh Zayed as a man who had a leading and decisive role in advancing education and trade and shaping the UAE’s current position.
Al Mazrouei planted a cherry tree with Morten Thorning, General Director of the Animation Section, at the VIA University College Square, as a symbol of the renewal of life and hope, in the presence of students and officials.
During the visit, she met with the college’s dean and heads of departments.
The college showed a documentary film about its animation skills and the story of the UAE’s development and its founder, Sheikh Zayed.
Al Mazrouei was briefed about the workshops of the college’s animation studios, where students and specialist companies are implementing innovative ideas, including some that have been nominated for the Oscars.
Al Mazrouei visited the City Council and met with the mayor, who briefed her about the city and encouraged her to discuss diplomatic cooperation.
She also met with the city’s Head of Economic Development and the Chairman of the Business Council.
During the meeting, local officials highlighted key information about developing the investment environment of the city, which will host the headquarters of the “Giant Apple,” as well as the activities of key Danish companies from Viborg in the Middle East. They also expressed their desire to welcome and facilitate Emirati investors in Viborg.
Al Mazrouei highlighted the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai and the importance of participating in the event to the city’s companies that desire to invest in the UAE and the Arab region.
