UAE Embassy honours Cypriot delegation participating in Special Olympics Games.

The UAE Embassy in Nicosia yesterday hosted a reception in honour of the Cypriot special Olympics delegation, who will be heading soon to Abu Dhabi to participate in the Special Olympics World Games , which will be held from 14th to 21st March.

The UAE Embassy received almost 35 Cypriot athletes who will compete in different sports including basketball, bowling, cycling, artistic gymnastic, rhythmic gymnastics, athletics and swimming.

During the reception, which was held at the Embassy’s premises, Sultan Ahmed Al Suwaidi, UAE ambassador to Cyprus, wished all the athletes, administrators and coaches a successful trip and participation at the event.

The Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 will see the participation of 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches representing more than 170 countries. The Games will see the biggest humanitarian sporting event in the world coming to the UAE, marking its first debut in the history of the MENA region.
