Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif convened at the Amiri Diwan on Thursday. Their discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations and supporting them across various fields. They also explored regional developments and efforts to achieve peace and stability, benefiting all peoples in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting began with HH the Amir welcoming HE the Prime Minister and his delegation, expressing satisfaction with the visit, which highlights the strong relations between the two countries. HE the Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Qatar, supporting measures to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He condemned the recent Israeli attack, describing it as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and an affront to international laws and norms, while praising HH the Amir’s efforts to ensure regional stability.
HH the Amir expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s supportive stance and fraternal feelings toward Qatar. They exchanged views on regional and international matters of mutual concern, particularly focusing on the Middle East’s current situation. Both leaders emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomatic solutions as key strategies to address regional crises and uphold security globally.
The meeting saw the presence of several high-ranking officials from both nations. On Qatar’s side, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani and other senior officials attended. Pakistan’s delegation included HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar and other high-level officials.
Following the main meeting, HH the Amir and HE the Prime Minister held a bilateral session to further exchange views on issues of mutual interest.
