UAE Embassy in Vienna paints walls at the Mother-Child-House in Vienna.

The UAE Embassy in Vienna organized a painting day at the Mother-Child-House in Vienna. Throughout the day a delegation from the Embassy diplomats and staff painted the walls at the Mother-Child-House, which is a shelter home for women and children in need.

The UAE’s embassy initiative falls in line with the “Year of Zayed”, which has been declared by the UAE’s President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as the year for supporting societies and those who are underprivileged, values of Sheikh Zayed the founder of the UAE.

“It is an honour to have His Excellency Ambassador Alkaabi with us today and we are thankful for the support of the UAE Embassy”, said Ms. Gudrun KAlhne, Fundraising Executive at Caritas, “this is helping so much more and means a lot to us.”

Ambassador Alkaabi pointed out the importance of humanitarian and charity work. “I am impressed by the work of Caritas and their dedicated efforts. Our voluntary work commemorates the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed, highlighting his legacy in the charity and humanitarian work,.”

The Mother-Child-House is an initiative by Caritas, an international charity, which assists people who are faced with hardship and are unable to manage their lives after an emergency or disaster. The Mother-Child-House is a temporary home for pregnant women and mothers with small children who have no homes for themselves and their children. The shelter provides a safe foundation upon which these mothers can build a new life for themselves and provide a better future for their children.
