Hundreds of Israeli colonists stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque compound Sunday morning on the fourth day of the Jewish festival of Sukkot, supported by a significant presence of Israeli occupation forces (IOF). Local sources reported that over 434 colonists broke into the mosque, performing religious rituals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa. The sources further noted that a group of colonists gathered at Al-Tattanin Gate, one of the main entrances on the northern side of the mosque, where they conducted their rituals. The occupation authorities exploit Jewish holidays and occasions to intensify restrictions on Palestinians and impose collective punishments. This includes closing checkpoints, tightening military measures, obstructing the movement of Palestinians, and preventing them from accessing holy sites, while facilitating colonist incursions into Palestinian cities and Islamic and historical sites in the West Bank, particularly the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds). Th e blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to colonist incursions on an almost daily basis under the protection of the occupation police, in an attempt to change the status quo of Al-Aqsa and divide it temporally.
