Head of the Center for Political Thinking, Ihsan Al-Shammari, confirmed: “Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani is determined to carry out the ministerial change despite not being given the green light by some political blocs.”
Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): There is a desire from the Prime Minister to make a ministerial change after realizing that there is a deficiency among some ministers, and a failure to implement the government program, and this matter also applies to a number of advisors, Undersecretaries, and directors general who are unable to providing what enhances the chances of success of government performance, and thus Al-Sudani is motivated to make this change.
He pointed out that Al-Sudani’s statements regarding the Cabinet change were made four months ago and were repeated now, and the change was supposed to take place before this time because he had previously confirmed that he was given complete freedom by the political blocs to make a change to Ministers and Senior positions, but the Ministers were not changed. The incompetent and incapable who failed to implement the government program, as a result of the political will of their parties, especially since Al-Sudani's government is a quota government, and therefore change cannot be made except with a green light from the political blocs.
It is clear that the green light varies between the political blocs to allow the Prime Minister to carry out the ministerial change and the executive officials, and thus Al-Sudani may be forced to walk alone towards the ministerial change and thus fail in Parliament to pass the ministerial change.
