In his meeting with a Qatari delegation, the Minister of Agriculture confirms his full readiness for joint work with all countries in the region

Baghdad, The Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Alaywi, affirmed full readiness for joint work with all countries in the region.

A statement by the ministry stated: “Al-Alaywi met today with the delegation of Sadara Holding Company and its partners from the Qatari companies, headed by Sheikh Ahmed Hussein Al-Khalaf, in the presence of the Qatari Ambassador Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiti , the Administrative Undersecretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mahdi Sahar Al-Jubouri, and the General Manager of the Agricultural Supplies Company, Taleb Al-Kaabi.

The guest delegation presented an explanation of the work carried out by the company in a number of countries in the world in various fields, including agriculture, the manufacture of fixed and pivotal sprays, organic and chemical fertilizers, and in the fields of fish and animal wealth.

Al-Khalaf affirmed the company’s readiness to implement various strategic projects in a way that covers the needs of the local market and open the door for exporting the surplus, considering Iraq at the forefront of the countries in the region that gathers all the tools of success from the vast areas of pristine arable land, the availability of water, labor and other auxiliary factors that other countries lack.

He expressed his company’s readiness to work with the Iraqi government in all projects related to the agricultural, animal and fisheries fields, in addition to manufacturing machinery, sprinklers and all modern irrigation technologies at competitive prices and high quality.

For his part, Al-Alaywi considered the visit an introduction to a large investment work, in addition to a number of successful projects currently being implemented in a number of Iraqi governorates.

The Minister of Agriculture added: “The ambition is to return relations with all Arab countries to their desired levels, in a way that benefits and stabilizes the region.”

He explained: Opening the doors of cooperation, coordination and economic integration between Iraq and its neighbors would strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and friendship among the peoples of the region.

The Minister of Agriculture noted that: The Ministry is ready to cooperate in setting up investment projects that benefit Iraq in several regions, especially the western and central regions.

And it was agreed that technical delegations from the Qatari side would visit to complete the talks between the two parties.
